ExcellentBased on 591 reviewsSamantha Armstrong2024-04-05Great ride, local connection mattered and so great to work with! We had a young rider (12 year old) with us and they were great with him. Loved our ride and getting so see/experience parts of the city we may not have known about without them!Holly Pressel2024-03-31We had an amazing experience with FreeWheelin’! The three of us enjoyed the Electric Cajun ride and all the local and historic information that was shared with us. We would highly recommend the ride!Josh Gifford2024-03-19We had a blast with Teddy and learned a lot. If you are looking to get off Bourbon Street for a few hours, I can't think of a better way to get a sense of what life is actually like in "The Northern most Caribbean City". Next time, I think we'll book two different tours because the only part of this one that was bad was when it was over!😁James French2024-03-17My wife and I were part of a small group, cycling round New Orleans, guided by Teddy. The cycles were a bit strange at first but we soon got the hang of them. Don't be put off by only one gear, as the whole tour is virtually flat. We had no problem keeping up. Teddy's knowledge of the city was amazing and very personal, delivered with humour. We would have no hesitation in recommending this tour.Barry Stalnaker2024-03-02We had a great time on our e-bikes exploring the French Quarter, Mardi Gras World, the riverfront, and New Orleans City Park, all without having to worry about traffic or parking.Brad Seamans2024-02-23Great way to see the other side of New Orleans. Away from Bourbon Street. Teddy was a fun and knowledgeable guide, a true New Orleanian. A fine story teller and you can tell he loves his city.Robert Drake2024-02-23We had an awesome time on our tour with Ted! The e-bikes were a fun way to see the city. Ted was very knowledgeable and his passion for New Orleans shines through.Karen Emtage-Elliott2024-02-12Great tour guide, interesting tour, nice bikes would definitely recommend.

Tipping is a direct reflection of how much you enjoyed your tour. Remember, a big part of a tour guides income consists of tips; 10%-20% is recommended if you feel that your guide did their job of safely guiding you through the streets and made your tour fun and entertaining.
Our tours have been designed to ensure the comfort and safety of all riders. Led by one of our awesome local guides, we bike single file from stop to stop, pulling over many times along the route for stories and photos.
Yes, we do ride and talk, that allows us to cover more ground than any other bike tour in the city. Don’t worry, all of the pertinent information is reserved for our stops. Our guides have been doing this for quite some time, they can multi-task – all while ensuring that you safely navigate the route with the group.
Yes!
This may sound like a funny question, but you’d be surprised how many folks show up for a bike tour that have never ridden a bike! If you are not comfortable riding a bike or have never ridden a bike, a bike tour is probably not the best choice of activities during your vacation. We want to take you out and show you a good time, but we can’t risk the safety of you or the other riders if you riding skills aren’t sharp enough for city riding.
We take care of all of the essentials for you. Included in every tour package is a smokin’ cool cruiser made in NYC, a cold bottle of water, helmet, basket & bell, and an awesome licensed tour guide of course. We even have a restroom at our office if you need relief before pedaling out.
Rule #1 in the New Orleans bike industry, never listen to the weatherman! We roll rain or shine – In the event of rain, complimentary ponchos are provided ponchos to all riders, rain rides are often the best 😉. In the event, a tour is canceled due to severe weather (thunderstorms, lightning, etc.) we will contact you as early as possible to reschedule your tour. Tour cancellations are determined by the Company without exception. If you are unable to reschedule in the event of severe weather (not regular rain), we’ll refund your money in full.
We understand plans change while on vacation. Should you need to cancel, we require 48 hours notice for a 50% refund. We are a very small business, the odds that we can sell your tickets in such a small window aren’t very good, therefore we feel that 50% is fair for having reserved and guaranteed your spot on our limited availability tours. Just want to reschedule? No problemo! Give us at least 72 hours notice to ensure we can place you on the tour that best suits your needs and your payment rolls into your new reservation. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled tour departure. Sorry, 🙁 you’ll be missing a great time.
All of our tour bikes are hand-made in New York and are custom built in our shop to specifications that ensure the most comfortable ride possible. They are single-gear cruisers with a front hand brake & a rear coaster brake with the most comfortable seats on the planet. A ready-made rattle-ride bike from China? Puh-lease, not here Jack!
It’s up to you, Louisiana does not mandate the wearing of a helmet for bicycle riders. If you want a helmet, we’ve got a good one for you.
Absolutely! We love feedback here at FreeWheelin’ Bike Tours. It’s the main catalyst to constantly improving our customer’s experience with us. You can handwrite us a comment card on-site, or leave a review on the various travel sites (i.e. TripAdvisor, Google, etc.). We want to hear what you have to say!
Yes. Private tours can be booked by phone or email. Private tours cost more than a regular tour unless your group is large enough to buy all of the tickets for the tour time that you are interested in. Click here for more info.

Super cool dude, super knowledgeable as he is and has been a local in the area his whole life, doing the tour for 13 years and really knows his stuff. The guide had exceptional knowledge of the history of New Orleans. Loved the e-bikes the made the tour a great experienceGOESgirl2023-12-09Best Intro to NOLA My husband I and I spent 4 days in NOLA. The Free Wheelin' bike tour was the first thing we did and it was AWESOME! We cycled thru the French Quarter and then headed out to many of the outlying neighborhoods. The sights and historical background provided by our guide were eye opening. His obvious pride in NOLA was infectious and set us up for a much more meaningful visit to New Orleans. Hands down - the best thing we did!nancy t2023-12-06Do it! Loved this tour! I have been on many Nola tours and this was by far my favorite. Super informative and fun. Couldn't recommend it more.Amanda H2023-11-24Calm helpful guides and great way to see New Orleans Great way to see plenty of New Orleans without walking for hours! Went with a nervous child who took some time getting used to the bike and traffic but the guides were fabulous at calming everyone and making it a fabulous experience! Only (small) issue was the freezing snow cones as snacks halfway through?! But excellent helpful guide and frequent stops to see cemetery, park, houses and so much more!
