Much of this bike tour takes place either in a bike lane or the mellow neighborhood backstreets. That said, we do sometimes have to ride alongside automobile traffic which is dictated by the decisions of the DOT, not us.

James French2024-03-17My wife and I were part of a small group, cycling round New Orleans, guided by Teddy. The cycles were a bit strange at first but we soon got the hang of them. Don't be put off by only one gear, as the whole tour is virtually flat. We had no problem keeping up. Teddy's knowledge of the city was amazing and very personal, delivered with humour. We would have no hesitation in recommending this tour.

Tour Description
Starting at our shop in the French Quarter, our ‘Electric Creole Cruise’ tour will explore the following topics:
- Your bike tour begins with a succinct yet essential portrayal of days past.
- An oral illustration of New Orleans’ first 150 years (from 1696 to 1803) of existence from it’s backwater beginnings to a “Land of Riches” as advertised by the French government in order to lure much needed settlers to the territory, to being known as ‘The Jewel of the South.’
- Native American, French, Spanish & American History of New Orleans.
- 1,000 year old Oak Tree grove in City Park.
- Our ride will take us to one of the city’s most famous cemeteries, Saint Louis Cemetery No. 3 (photo below), where we’ll show you above-ground crypts and explain to you why this is the way that we bury our departed.
- Emerging from the cemetery, our bike tour passes over Bayou St. John and into City Park where lives the largest grove of mature Live Oak trees in the world. Historic recollections of the old dueling grounds whereby bullet and blade, many proud and charismatic New Orleanians met their demise.
- A break for refreshments at a local coffee/juice/sno-ball shop is on the itinerary too – remember to bring some cash because not everyone takes plastic.
- Our journey back to the French Quarter begins with a ride on Magnolia Bridge over Bayou St. John and down oak-canopied Ursulines Avenue before crossing into the famous Treme neighborhood – a place that music is always playing and good food is always cooking!

- All that awesomeness while being immersed in the natural beauty of many of New Orleans’ oldest neighborhoods aka (‘Faubourgs’) – we call that, “Passing a Good Time” Mon Ami.
- A few blocks away we apply the brakes at home base in the French Quarter, where restrooms and refreshments await. We’ll answer any questions that you may have, and give you our recommendations about what else is a ‘must do’ while in New Orleans.
$65 general ticket includes a professional licensed tour guide, your bike with a bell & handlebar bag, a helmet, and bottled water.

Super cool dude, super knowledgeable as he is and has been a local in the area his whole life, doing the tour for 13 years and really knows his stuff. GOESgirl2023-12-09Best Intro to NOLA My husband I and I spent 4 days in NOLA. The Free Wheelin' bike tour was the first thing we did and it was AWESOME! We cycled thru the French Quarter and then headed out to many of the outlying neighborhoods. The sights and historical background provided by our guide were eye opening. His obvious pride in NOLA was infectious and set us up for a much more meaningful visit to New Orleans. Hands down - the best thing we did!

Went with a nervous child who took some time getting used to the bike and traffic but the guides were fabulous at calming everyone and making it a fabulous experience! Only (small) issue was the freezing snow cones as snacks halfway through?! But excellent helpful guide and frequent stops to see cemetery, park, houses and so much more!
