ExcellentBased on 591 reviewsSamantha Armstrong2024-04-05Great ride, local connection mattered and so great to work with! We had a young rider (12 year old) with us and they were great with him. Loved our ride and getting so see/experience parts of the city we may not have known about without them!Holly Pressel2024-03-31We had an amazing experience with FreeWheelin’! The three of us enjoyed the Electric Cajun ride and all the local and historic information that was shared with us. We would highly recommend the ride!Josh Gifford2024-03-19We had a blast with Teddy and learned a lot. If you are looking to get off Bourbon Street for a few hours, I can't think of a better way to get a sense of what life is actually like in "The Northern most Caribbean City". Next time, I think we'll book two different tours because the only part of this one that was bad was when it was over!😁James French2024-03-17My wife and I were part of a small group, cycling round New Orleans, guided by Teddy. The cycles were a bit strange at first but we soon got the hang of them. Don't be put off by only one gear, as the whole tour is virtually flat. We had no problem keeping up. Teddy's knowledge of the city was amazing and very personal, delivered with humour. We would have no hesitation in recommending this tour.Barry Stalnaker2024-03-02We had a great time on our e-bikes exploring the French Quarter, Mardi Gras World, the riverfront, and New Orleans City Park, all without having to worry about traffic or parking.Brad Seamans2024-02-23Great way to see the other side of New Orleans. Away from Bourbon Street. Teddy was a fun and knowledgeable guide, a true New Orleanian. A fine story teller and you can tell he loves his city.Robert Drake2024-02-23We had an awesome time on our tour with Ted! The e-bikes were a fun way to see the city. Ted was very knowledgeable and his passion for New Orleans shines through.Karen Emtage-Elliott2024-02-12Great tour guide, interesting tour, nice bikes would definitely recommend.

Are you curious about Mardi Gras? Would you like to see where it all began? This tour has all that and a lotta lagniappe to boot (lagniappe = a lil extra). Twist and turn among secret gardens & Oak trees to see one of the rarest neighborhoods in America. You will love one of our most popular New Orleans Tours… The Garden District Bike Tour.
This beautiful guided bicycle tour of the New Orleans Garden District is everything you want to see in New Orleans, and a few things we keep secret – this is New Orleans in her most enchanting form.
Heading upriver out of the French Quarter, our destination is one of the oldest and most beautiful in the world – The Garden District. Subdivided in the 1830’s from former plantation lands, the Garden District was originally established by nouveau riche Americans as a way to distance themselves from the “stuffy” Creoles who resided in the “Old City” of the French Quarter. Our ride takes us upriver along Magazine St. through the Art’s District where we’ll pass the National World War II Museum and learn about New Orleans’ contribution to that great conflict.
Arriving in the Garden District, we’ll glide under enormous, centuries-old Live Oak trees and pedal past some of the most opulent mansions in the United States. Here we’ll: Hear how these magnificent homes were constructed from immense fortunes made in sugar, cotton, tobacco, and coffee & learn about the different styles of architecture that came and went as tastes changed over the years.
After a stop for refreshments, we’ll explore Lafayette Cemetery No.1 and discover the unique New Orleans practice of above-ground burial. Here you’ll be able to wander among the tombs, many of which contain victims of Yellow Fever – the scourge of the city in its early years.
We’ll cruise back along St. Charles Avenue, the Grande Dame of New Orleans thoroughfares, and the route of the oldest continuously operating street railway system in the world. Continuing our ride through the American Sector, we’ll pass by Lafayette Square which was once the campground of Confederate and Union soldiers and is now the operational center of the federal government, the square resides across the street from original city hall of New Orleans – Gallier Hall.
A few blocks away we apply the brakes and come to a halt at home base – our office in the French Quarter, where restrooms and cold drinks await.
$55 single rider ticket includes a professional & licensed tour guide, your bike with a handle bar bag, bell, a helmet, and a bottled water.

Highly recommend - no easier way to see some of the best parts and historic areas of the city in a few hours.MaryEllen L2023-12-13Great tour! The tour was great. The guide had exceptional knowledge of the history of New Orleans. Loved the e-bikes the made the tour a great experienceGOESgirl2023-12-09Best Intro to NOLA My husband I and I spent 4 days in NOLA. The Free Wheelin' bike tour was the first thing we did and it was AWESOME! We cycled thru the French Quarter and then headed out to many of the outlying neighborhoods. The sights and historical background provided by our guide were eye opening. His obvious pride in NOLA was infectious and set us up for a much more meaningful visit to New Orleans. Hands down - the best thing we did!nancy t2023-12-06Do it! Loved this tour! I have been on many Nola tours and this was by far my favorite. Super informative and fun. Couldn't recommend it more.Amanda H2023-11-24Calm helpful guides and great way to see New Orleans Great way to see plenty of New Orleans without walking for hours! Went with a nervous child who took some time getting used to the bike and traffic but the guides were fabulous at calming everyone and making it a fabulous experience! Only (small) issue was the freezing snow cones as snacks halfway through?! But excellent helpful guide and frequent stops to see cemetery, park, houses and so much more!
